Manistee Lake Trout Fishing Report – Father’s Day Family Trip
June 21, 2025 – Father’s Day
Father’s Day was spent doing what we love most — spending time on the water with family. We blocked out the date for a special family trip, and Carrie and the boys had a great day catching Lake Trout on Lake Michigan out of Manistee.
We spent the day fine tuning our trout spread and ended up 10 for 16 after about four hours of fishing.
Lake Trout Report
Lake Trout were found straight out from Manistee and north toward Onekama in 90–150 feet of water, with 130 feet producing the best action.
The fish came from both downriggers and wire divers. The biggest fish of the day came on wire divers pulling Gambler Rigs with Spin-N-Glos.
For numbers, the top producers were Dreamweaver Spin Doctors paired with Spin-N-Glos. Fine tuning the spread throughout the day helped keep bites coming and put together a successful Father’s Day trip.
Captain’s Notes
Days like this are what make Great Lakes fishing special. Sharing time on the water with family and watching everyone catch fish is what it’s all about.
