Manistee Fishing Report: Kings Settled Into a Summer Pattern

Here’s the latest Manistee fishing report from Copperhead Sportfishing.

King Salmon

The break has come up, and kings are settled into the top 50–65 feet. Fish 90–150 FOW first and last light and 200–300 FOW mid-morning and late afternoon.

The 9s–15s definitely have a lot of fish on them. Gold Finn Spoons have been productive. Moonshine spoons, especially the Raptor and Double Glow designs, have also been taking fish. Low divers with a Kevin’s Girlfriend Spin Doctor and a Blue Bubble meat rig produced some strikes too.

Steelhead

Found some steelhead last weekend in 300 FOW in the 12s. Short cores with gold and copper spoons were productive for the chromers. They hit our 5- and 7-color rigs with vengeance and start jumping like a rodeo bull. Yeah… they’re a blast.

Lake Trout

Didn’t spend much time looking for trout, but they’re for sure in 90–150 FOW from Manistee north to Arcadia. Put on your favorite Spin Doctor/Spin-N-Glo combo and comb the bottom to 20 feet above bottom. They’ll stack up on your graph. Can’t miss ’em.
